In this lesson, students are able to gain an understanding of the basic differences between capitalism and communism. This lesson can be used to pre-empt any topic where the terms are used such as the Cold War, inter-war years, Russian Revolution Vietnam War etc etc.

The main key questions of the lesson are:

  • What are the features of capitalism and communism?
  • What are the strengths and weaknesses of capitalism and communism?
  • What are the common public attitudes towards capitalism and communism?
