KS3 English Literature (13) Going Solo – Creative Writing IV

Roald Dahl’s second autobiography ‘Going Solo’ is a dynamic KS3 text that provides a high number of learning opportunities in both reading, writing and creative tasks. I have taught this text a number of times in the last twenty years, and I have used this specific resource (revised in 2022) to lead my teaching in class, as a homework assignment and even as a distance learning resource.

This dynamically presented 15 slide PowerPoint presentation is most suitable for a year 6 or year 7 mixed ability group. This lesson contains a starter activity, reflective questions, structured writing exercises based on personal experiences, discussion and debate tasks, focused listening task, an extension task, a homework assignment and a plenary.
