A short ten lesson non-fiction unit. The purpose of this unit is to review various types of non-fiction texts and their unique conventions while considering larger aspects of society such as politics and racial injustice. Further, students also practice evaluation skills by providing their own opinion on topics.
I’ve also included a practice test that my students used to prepare for their end of year exam. It tests skills such as identifying implicit and explicit information, making inferences, analyzing language, writer’s purpose and writing a non-fiction text.
**Note: These lessons have been created to be uploaded on Google Drive and used on Google Slides. Formatting, fonts and images will be affected if they’re used on Powerpoint. **
