KS3 Year 7 Organisms Topic Lesson 9 Plant Cells

This is the last lesson on the Year 7 topic Organisms.

This lesson looks at the difference between animal and plant cells, and the function of the vacuole, cell wall and chloroplasts. Includes demo and microscope demo so students understand what plant cells look like

Each lesson within the topic has been carefully written so as not to increase cognitive load. The lesson includes retrieval practice and set tasks to help move learning from working memory to long-term memory. Whole class feedback is gained through the use of mini white boards (MWB).

My aim is to make outstanding science lessons based on evidence informed research. I have included detailed teaching notes so that non-specialists and newly qualified science teachers can pick up a lesson and teach straight away.
