This bundle contains the first 5 lessons of the AQA Religious Education GCSE topic of ‘Religion, Peace and Conflict.’

The resources are-
Lesson 1: Peace and Justice
You’ll find a power point that lasts 1 hour (if not over), on peace and justice. It will get the students to explore the meaning of those key words, as well as their own feelings on them. It also gets the students to analyse religious quotes and beliefs on peace and justice.

Lesson 2: Forgiveness and Reconciliation.
This lesson explores what we mean by forgiveness and reconciliation. It contains a power point that lasts 1 hour (if not over) that analyses those key words, as well as the religious views on them. It also contains two youtube links to examples of forgiveness and reconciliation and an exam question scaffold sheet.

Lesson 3: Violence and Violent protest.
This lesson contains a 1 hour power point on violence and violent protest. The lesson is structured around a 12 mark exam question, with each task getting them to focus on different aspects of the question to help them understand 12 markers.

Lesson 4: Terrorism.
This lesson contains a 1 hour power point that focuses on terrorism.
The lesson firstly gets the students to address any misconceptions about what a terrorist looks like. It then focuses on religious views towards terrorism and violence with a worksheet, discussions and scaffolded tasks.

Lesson 5: Religion and war.
The contains a 1 hour power point on religion and war. It gets the students to look at whether or not religion is a cause of war, or if it is against war and conflict.

I get my students to stick in the religious quote sheet that you’ll find for the first lesson. The students then refer back to those quotes when we look at religious views on the different subjects and (hopefully) will memorize them for them exam. (I should have taken out any reference to textbooks, but refer back to those sheets if it does say use a textbook).
