Low-Mid Ability Numeracy Maths Intervention Pack

This resource is a bundle consisting of 18 booklets.
This bundle is aimed at younger learners or those who struggle with key mathematical concepts.

Each booklet begins with learning objectives and provides an opportunity for learners to input their score for each page.
Each page also has a score bar where they can shade in their score for that particular page.

Also included is a powerpoint for each series (A, B, C, …) that a staff member can use to guide the learners.

Booklets A1 - A3 focus on 6 specific skills, with each skill being assessed 18 times in total. (Learners may be able to skip booklets if they are progressing more quickly than others)

Booklets B1-B3 then focus on developing those skills further, and so on.

The contents along with their learning objectives are as follows:

A1, A2, A3
I can rearrange digits to make the largest or smallest possible even or odd number
I can write numbers up to 100000 in words
I can write numbers up to 100000 in figures
I can read simple scales
I can round numbers to the nearest 10
I can multiply integers by 6, 7, 8 or 9

B1, B2, B3
I can solve problems involving whole number addition
I can work backwards from ‘times tables’
I can multiply a 2 digit number with a 1 digit number
I can use a reverse calculation to check answers
I can add a 3 digit number with a 2 digit number
I can subtract a 2 digit number from another 2 digit number

C1, C2, C3
I can round to the nearest 10
I can round to the nearest 100
I can read scales
I can adapt recipes using doubling or halving
I can convert 25%, 50% and 75% into decimals, fractions and percentages
I can find a fraction of a number with numerator 1

D1, D2, D3
I can solve problems involving dividing by a 1 digit number
I can calculate change up to £1
I can subtract a 2 digit number from a 3 digit number
I can find a fraction of a number with numerator greater than 1
I can multiply by 10 and 100
I can divide by 10 and 100

E1, E2, E3
I can estimate answers by rounding
I can use proportion to adapt costs
I can find multiples of a number within a given range
I can express tenths as decimals or fractions
I can multiply a 3 digit number with a 2 digit number
I can solve problems involving adding and subtracting with money

F1, F2, F3
I can find a fraction of a bigger number
I can order decimals
I can read scales with negative numbers
I can work back from dividing or multiplying by 10 or 100
I can find an increase or decrease in temperature
I can divide a 3 digit number by a 1 digit number
