Since I’ve already tried this teaching course and final class project with my English class, I would recommend informing and addressing the parents to avoid any conflicts about the cloning part (which should be entirely optional).
Finally, I simply used a hard box of plastic to vessel the students’ contributions to our future descendants (mostly digital content on an USB-pin).
