For BTEC Applied Science Unit 1: Principles and Applications 1 (Biology). Four revision games to cover the nervous tissue section of B3 of specification. Get your students to learn while they are having fun. Included in the resource:

NERVOUS TISSUE QUIZ
The quiz, which can be printed or completed on editable PDF, includes an answer sheet to save you valuable time. There are four rounds –
• Picture round where students must identify 8 pictures relating to nervous tissue.
• Resting and action potential round which consists of 10 short answer questions on action and resting potentials.
• Synapses round which consists of 10 questions on structure and function of synapses.
• Neurotransmitter round which consists of 8 questions on types of neurotransmitter and how specific drugs affect the actions of neurotransmitters.

NERVOUS TISSUE WHEEL OF FORTUNE
Can be played individually or as part of a team.
The game consists of 30 questions (answers included). The question cards should be printed out double sided and cut out. They are then placed number side up.
Spin the wheel of fortune to identify which question should be turned over. It is up to you to decide whether the question has been answered fully enough. If the answer is correct turn it over. If the wheel picks a question that has already been answered that student or team is let off this time.
This game makes an ideal revision session for this topic.

NERVOUS TISSUE BINGO
Students love a game of bingo. But while they are having fun trying to get a line or a full house, why not help them revise nervous tissue by asking them a question for each of the 20 key words rather than just giving them the words.
Includes 30 unique bingo cards.
Answers to questions included.
Remember not to print double-sided!

NERVOUS TISSUE JEOPARDY
Ideal for teams.
There are 5 topics students can choose from (their choices will give you an idea of what they are least confident about):
• Nervous tissue structure
• Resting potential
• Action potential
• Synapses
• Neurotransmitters
Once a student or team has chosen a topic, click on a tile under the topic and it will take you to a question. There are 6 questions for each topic (answers included in the PowerPoint). If the student/team gets the answer correct they can choose to answer a bonus question for extra points.
60 questions in total on nervous tissue.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER GAMES IN THIS SERIES?
There are also games available on cell structure, cell specialisation, epithelial tissue and muscle tissue.
If you are not sure if the games are right for you, you can try the muscle tissue games for free – available in my shop.
If you like the games, you can save money by buying the games bundle.
