This is a complete lesson covering sections 6.3.2 a, b and c of the OCR Physics specification- the effect of magnetic fields on moving charged particles. It goes through how to calculate the force on a moving particle as well as an explanation of why the path is likely to be curved. It also covers how to calculate the curvature of the pathway as well as some application questions asking students to predict the effect of changes on the curvature. The lesson finished with introducing velocity selectors and how they work including the necessary calculations. This links magnetic and electric fields
The lesson includes a starter, full notes, various student led activities and a differentiated summary at the end
All answers are included
