For teaching OCR A Level Rebellion and Disorder under the Tudors 1485-1603

This is lesson 2 of the depth study for the Western Rebellion 1549. This two hour lesson focuses on the nature of the Western Rebellion.

This was used as an observation lesson! Students really enjoyed this lesson and feedback was excellent.

This lesson looks at;

  • Spaced Retrieval starter looking back over all Tudor rebellions!
  • Recap on the causes of the Western Rebellion
  • In depth study on the nature of the Western rebellion using a QUIZ filled with extra information! Each quiz question looks at a different aspect of the nature of the Western Rebellion - students have to identify which answer is about the Western Rebellion, and for the other options identify which rebellion that answer refers to! A very clever quiz packed full of retrieval.
  • Blame Game - who was to blame for the rebellion? Looks at the violence of the rebels and if they were provoked by the government! Includes a timeline of the battles and skirmishes during the rebellion.
