Powerpoint for whole week to teach a KS2 class poetry. Children will use emotive language and poetic devices to write a poem about the beauty of the rainforest and the sadness surrounding deforestation. They will use different techniques to create emotions in their reader and take them on a journey throughout their poem.

The final outcome will be to write a poem of 6 stanzas. They will focus on writing 2 stanzas per day in the week until they write their whole independent write on Friday.

On Monday, the children will brainstorm ideas for the week.
On Tuesday, they will focus on the beauty and vibrance of the rainforest.
On Wedensday, the panic/alarm surrounding deforestation.
On Thursday, the sadness of the desolation left behind.
On Friday, they will write their poem independently.
