Outstanding Lesson Explanation Text How the Eye Works

Everything you need to teach an explanation text and /or how the eye works and how we see. Works brilliantly as a Literacy and Science cross-curricular lesson aimed at year 5/6 but easily adapted for years 3/4.
There is a powerpoint, model or WAGOLL text and sentence level work linked to modal verbs and causal conjunctions and other grammar linked to the text type.

Also images are provided for children to rehearse their explanation prior to the writing stage using word mats and appropriate eye terminology. This enhances the quality of the writing every time! I have tried and tested these resources many times and enjoyed the greater depth writing that often is produced ready for any writing moderation.
Children are engaged in the topic and forget how hard they are working at the technical accuracy of the writing process-just as it should be!
