I have used this resource over 2 years with KS3 students, created with a lesson Observation - it was deemed Outstanding for student progress.

This resource provides support and assessment for students to revise KS3 How Science Works Vital Non-Metals & Silicon, Organizing the Periodic Table and Noble Gases and Halogens principles.

Note: This does not look at the properties of metals - but does refer to them in terms of how the organisation of the periodic table includes them.

This resource begins with assessing students understanding through a self assessed quiz to identify their weakest areas, setting them up for an independent revision activity using the resources provided. Students work to complete enough tasks correctly in order to progress onto the next area of revision - I placed the answers around the room for them to self assess. For a plenary there are several quiz questions again. The starter and plenary is timed.
