The teaching materials in this booklet suggest an order for teaching letters and provide a selection of activities to support learning and practising reading and writing with the sounds learned. Feel free to pick and choose the suitable activities for your child, they may need to do more activities for some of the letters than others, pick the pace that suits their needs!
It must always be remembered that phonics is the step up to word recognition. Automatic reading of all words – decodable and tricky – is the ultimate goal.
