Phonics short and long vowel sound differentiation worksheets.
Ideal for KS1 Years 1 and 2.
One worksheet explores the impact of adding a silent ‘magic’ e to the end of a word, changing it from a short vowel sound into a long vowel sound.
The second worksheet gets children to identify and distinguish between words containing short and long vowel sounds.
I initially developed these worksheets for a small Year 2 phonics intervention group but they can be equally beneficial for larger groups.
