These roll and write game mats can be used in poetry lessons, during World Poetry Day or sent home for homework. All they require is dice. Students need to roll the dice twice (or use two dice) to generate two numbers. Find the corresponding number of the game mat and write a sentence for their poem using it.
This resource can be used in KS1 and KS2 as the differentiation will be based on outcome. However, teachers can incorporate poetic techniques taught in lessons to encourage students.
