Creating Happy Playtimes Staff Training/Planning Session (ideal for whole school staff meeting/Inset). Resource updated 25th February 2024.

Objectives for the session

· Creating a consistent approach to ensuring happy playtimes are part of a continuous provision across the whole school

· Understanding the importance and purpose of playtimes for both children and adults

· Sharing thoughts, discussing key points and playing (having a go at some playtimes games/missions)!

· Planning next steps

Resource package contains -

• Session Outline for facilitator - objectives, pre-session preparation; resources required to run the session; a PowerPoint presentation; Resources - sheets of Playground Games Ideas (A4 for laminating) and sheets of Playground Mission Cards (A7 for laminating).

We have delivered this session very successfully in numerous primary schools within the UK and use the Playground Mission Cards regularly - children (and staff!) love them!
