Leçon 5 in our* Learn as you teach* Level 2 “School Life” French unit: OBJECTIVE: To use times of day. AGE RANGE: (7-12); KS2 (KS3 Less able/Special Needs)
CONTENTS: (i) A power point presentation with a range of French native speaker sound files attached to every item of language with animation designed to support both learners and presenters: Starter:Whole class animated memory game reviewing time on the hour and half past the hour; Screens 3-4: Learning objective and key structures: C’est l’heure de – It is time to/for; du matin – in the morning; de l’après-midi – in the afternoon; du soir – in the evening; Screens 5&6: Presentation of times of day followed by a presentation of the school routine; Screen 7: Short text presenting two different school times, related time, time of day and activities; Plenary: Exercise adding appropriate times of day to different analogue clock times on both the hour and half hour.
(ii) A lesson plan with screen by screen guidance and fun activity suggestions on how to present the show to pupils including a complete French/English vocabulary for the whole of the Level 2 School LIfe Unit with grammar notes;
(iii) A b/w illustrated worksheet with 3 differentiated tasks that has been directly linked to the main body of the power point show.
(iv) FREE Level 2 MFL Primary KS2/3 French work scheme detailing the other objectives in the unit and where the lesson falls in the teaching scheme.
