Primes, squares, cubes and roots

This bundle includes my lessons on the following:

• Squares, cubes and roots
• Divisibility tests
• Product of primes
• HCF and LCM

I would normally teach them in the above order. These lessons provide enough material for at least an hour on each. All lessons have full answers and are designed to be challenging (and non-calculator). My students enjoy learning the history behind subjects and why we learn them, so the lessons incorporate this where possible. All lessons include full activities and stretch and challenge possibilities. Topics covered include:

• Squaring/Cubing/Square rooting/Cube rooting
• Divisibility tests up to 11
• Primes up to 100
• Expressing as product of primes
• Using prime factorisation to find all factors and square roots of numbers
• HCF and LCM by prime factorisation (venn diagram) including when numbers are given in prime factorised form
• HCF and LCM written problems
