Repeated practice of applying Pythagoras’ Theorem to find c².

Students start at the base of the mountain, calculating the missing sides to find the total length of two mountain paths - routes A and B - to compare which is the shorter route.

Great as a homework activity or to be used competitively between students/ sides of the room etc. as a ‘race to the top’.
