A worksheet looking at an experiment to determine the half-life of protactinium.
There are two versions of the worksheet, one with data and results included, and one without results if you are able to carry out the experiment during a lesson.
Students have to correct the count rate for background radiation, plot a graph, determine the half-life from the graph, and answer questions relating to the experimental technique. This resource is great for preparing students for experiment-focused examination questions.
I use this resource with my GCSE and IGCSE Physics classes, in the topic of radioactivity.
