Discover the randomness of decay. I use normal big packets, 1 bag to 2 groups (approx. 100 M&M's). Spread them all out on paper plates, marking up on the plate. Only the M&M's are removed, not 3's, W's, E's or blanks. Count the ones removed, these don’t go back in. Re-shake and repeat. Students love it & do remember how half-life works. Make it clear they can't eat them till they are done. I've included by cumulative data from the past 10 years & a file to project which automatically adds up your classes data. I get my students to plot both their own & whole class data and discussing difference.

This sounds great, I look forward to using it this week. Thank you.
I really like this and can't wait to give it a try. From past experience my kids love anything with sweets or biscuits in it. If only the whole curriculum could be organised around them. Thanks for sharing
