An interactive resource for the teaching of lens ray-diagrams at both GCSE and A-level (designed for AQA specifications but will be useful for any general optics course).
This EXCEL spreadsheet features a large and easy-to-see fully interactive display (zoom-able to fit your screen), showing: object; lens (both convex and concave); up to 2 construction rays and the image (both real and virtual); changeable input values; calculated output values and full qualitative description of image displayed.
Note 1: this version is a reduced version of the full version and has many of the other useful features disabled (see document 'full version features')
Note 2: Ensure you have 'macros' enabled on your computer.

It works very well!
how did u even make the formullas<br /> its insane
This works very well and if given to students they can quickly generate the images for a converging lens and see how changing the object distance effects the image etc. Not sure why cecilybnt had a problem except of course that it is not for diverging lenses.
It doesn't work.
Thanks!
