This product is divided into reading and writing. It contains a reading comprehension and questions, gap filling activities and an optional project-based activity which entails drafting and writing about Ruby Bridges.

Ideal as a standalone lesson.

Content:

• Reading comprehension passage (1 page)
• Comprehension Questions 1 (6 questions) - with Answer sheet
• Comprehension Questions 2 (6 questions) - with Answer sheet
• Section A: Making list activity - students list good/bad things they liked about the Ruby Bridges story; Section B: Students write questions they would like to ask if they met Ruby
• Cloze Activity/Filling in missing words using the word banks

Drafting and writing:

• Cards 1 to 9: With questions and information for students to research and write notes. The cards are in colour and b/w - laminate and cut out.
• Blank writing sheet for drafting
• Blank writing sheet for final draft
• Example notes and writing to show students.

UK and US Spelling included (1 page)
