Recount planning - Full unit - The day the crayons came home

This resource contains written plans for a 3 week unit on recounts surrounding the book “the day the crayons came home” . The unit is based around writing a recount in the style of a postcard, however can be edited to suit your topic. The planning is suitable for lower KS2 or differentiation for upper KS2. This planning also comes with extended SEN planning and resources for those working at a KS1 level.

The structure follows teaching comprehension, vocabulary, grammar and writing throughout the topic.
