Red Ribbon
Subject: Understanding the world
Age range: 6 - 10
Resource type: Worksheet/Activity
This resource is perfect for listening and talking openly with children and answering questions about drugs. The activities promote a simple, age-appropriate, and easy-to-take discussion about drugs and their dangers.
Students comprehend that drug use is more related to self-love and self-respect. They understand that the use of drugs does not depend on others, it depends on their own decision-making and self-esteem. Help your kids become critically conscious of drug use and abuse at an early age.
Children will write a beautiful message to their future selves, encouraging them to keep it as a treasure. They would probably read it when they grow up and understand how important was this activity for them. Who knows, one day this message could very well save their life!
The necklace is fantastic, children feel proud wearing the red ribbon around school or at home, but most important the necklace helps them understand the real meaning of this amazing and important event in their lives. Print on cardstock and laminate (if you have time) for the best results. Once printed cut around the edges and asingle hole punched at the top of the Ribbon, I used yarn, or string (things I found in my room) as the necklace to hold their Red Ribbon Symbol.
