Remote Learning - What Was Whitechapel Like?

Ideal for remote home distance learning, sickness, self isolation, school closure or revision - What Was Whitechapel Like? - GCSE Crime and Punishment. This lesson looks at conditions in Whitechapel in the late 19th century. It includes overcrowding, pollution, slum houses, rookeries, workhouses, the Peabody Estate and many other factors. The students use the information and video link to answer the questions on the worksheet and then type up a ‘Whitechapel Report’.

This is a remote learning resource which can be emailed out or set on Google Classroom or similar platforms. I simply copy the worksheet over into a Google Doc on Classroom so the students can then type their responses straight onto the sheet. All the information needed and links to videos are included to help them understand.
