This KS2 reading comprehension resource tells the tale of how Robin Hood thwarted the Sheriff’s trap and won an archery competition, claiming the golden arrow. It can be used to test comprehension skills and as a model text for writing activities.

The text is accompanied by 20 reading comprehension questions (with answers provided on a separate sheet). These questions target key comprehension skills such as retrieving information, making inferences and understanding unfamiliar vocabulary.

A planning sheet is included to help children map out their own piece of writing inspired by the model text.
