The materials included in this unit are:

1. Adapted Novel. The adapted novel is 5 chapters long. Each chapter has a repeated line main idea at the bottom of the page and the book includes a table of contents, characters page, and settings page.
2. Communication Boards. The communication boards accompany each chapter including functional and academic words to meet the needs of most students in a special education class. There are two versions of the communication boards: one with words and pictures and one with words only. This unit contains 10 communication boards in all with 64 unique vocabulary words.
3. Comprehension Questions: Each chapter comes with 10 comprehension questions with picture supports. This unit contains 50 picture supported comprehension questions. There is also an answer key for each chapter.
