Explore how coaches, players and the community reacted to Ray’s decision to raise his little brother. Discuss the symbolism of Ray asking to carry his teammate’s gloves and what message his head coach was trying to send when he told him that family matters most. Finally, identify how Ray demonstrated the five important traits that Clemson wanted their athletes to exemplify: commitment, accountability, responsibility, discipline and sacrifice.
