Scandinavia Lesson

A lesson that can be used for a variety of different subjects, that aims to increase cultural awareness amongst students as well as helping their literacy. Can be tailored for any year group. Includes:

• a presentation to give to students on Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Whilst the teacher is presenting, students should complete a mini-fact file based on what’s being said. The information given is based on cuisine, public holidays and education.
• an article from The Guardian that has been cropped and edited so students read information on traveling through Scandinavia which raises their cultural awareness, and use it to create a leaflet. This boost students’ understanding of how pieces of prose are constructed.
