These are useful literacy resources for marking extended pieces of writing in science. The first document is best printed as 2 per A4 sheet and can be attached to students work to aid feedback. The second document is best printed on A3 as posters for display to provide information for students when undertaking extended pieces of writing. It can also be printed much smaller and provided as an insert for the students' books or files. Please let me know how useful you find these resources.

Would have to adapt to meet criteria for 6MQs. Students can use this for self/peer assessment. Might be worth trying out with a standalone lesson to introduce KS3 - 7/8s to extended writing in Science.
