This 7-lesson unit teaches students how to approach a script and bring it from page to stage. Key skills covered include: character exploration through role-on-the-wall and hot-seating; forum theatre; blocking and staging. A full read-through of the script is completed at the beginning of the unit, and key scenes are explored in class throughout the unit.
Students are also introduced to how to direct, as well as three basic stage types (Proscenium Arch, Thrust, Arena).
The unit culminates in a performance of the final scene.
