In this lesson students learn how to order different gifts from a souvenir shop with the phrase ‘ich möchte’. You may wish to substitute some of the tasks with listening and reading exercises from a textbook, however there should be enough material to cover a full lesson without.

Do-now activity: Matching numbers to price tags
Learning objectives
Vocabulary introduction with pictures and words
Beat the teacher with pictures
Speaking: Ich möchte (Partner and or whole class questioning)
Translation: ideal for mini-whiteboards but can be done in exercise books
Reading comprehension
Writing: Write own conversation (could ask some to do a roleplay at the front while others listen and make notes)
Splat: Can be done one half of room against the other or boys vs girls. Teacher gives words in German and students touch correct picture.
