This is an retelling of the Inca creation story including a range of figurative language techniques. It can be used as a good example of story writing when teaching the use of simile, metaphor, hyperbole, rhetorical questions, alliteration and expanded noun phrases. The story is written twice, the second version includes a colour coded key and highlighting throughout to identify the different literacy devices used in the story. Learners could be given the version without the highlighting and try to identify the features before writing their own stories. Word document and pdf versions are included in the purchase.
