The Sustain/Ed Learning Module is an educational package which augments the KS2 curriculum in the UK, offering activities which reinforce awareness of sustainability and climate action while maintaining core learning outcomes.

Chapter 7: Inventions
In this chapter, students will learn about innovative ways that humans are trying to counter climate change. We will highlight exciting innovations such as: capturing carbon dioxide, electricity producing algae, reducing methane from cows/pigs, plant-based eating, electric vs petrol vehicles, energy storage, and behaviour science and how we change behaviour.

Targets:

• Students explore the many different groups working to make our world more sustainable

• Students see that there are many ways to contribute to this effort - interdisciplinary learning and collaboration is key

• Students discover that more inventions and innovative ideas will help to protect our planet – and they can be part of these solutions
