Struggling to help your students understand cell membrane structure and function?
This 11-page illustrated notebook should help them understand this very abstract topic. It is packed with relevant illustrations and examples.
Get the best out of your students by getting them to use the notebooks to write their own notes rather than mechanically copying your notes. Test their revision strategies by using this as an end of topic test or for revision later in the year. However you use it, be the talk of the school with your excellent exam results.
WHAT TOPICS ARE INCLUDED?
The booklet covers surface area to volume ratio, factors which affect absorption into a cell and why size might require there to be a specialist exchange surface. Examples of specialist exchange surfaces are included as well as detailed structure of the cell membrane and how it is designed to control what substances can enter and leave the cell.
HOW IS IT SET OUT?
The notebook comes as an editable PDF which can easily be printed out for use in the classroom or students can type directly into the text boxes. Ask your students to label diagrams and fill in text boxes about a particular aspect of the topic. Get them to test their understanding with a end of booklet quiz.
ARE THERE ANY ANSWERS INCLUDED?
A booklet including suggested answers is included with the resource to save you time. However, it is up to you how much detail you want from each of your students allowing you to differentiate with ease.
ARE THERE ANY OTHER BOOKLETS IN THE SERIES?
Separate booklets are available for Cells and Tissues, Proteins, Carbohydrates and lipids; Genetics; Microbiology and Immunology. The full 6-book set can be purchased as a bundle to save you money.
