The Gothic Tradition KS3

A comprehensive half term long SoW and ppt suitable for KS3 which covers an introduction to Gothic fiction using extracts from classic texts before exploring in more depth Frankenstein, The Tell Tale Heart, The Red Room and The Monkey’s Paw. All that you need to deliver four part lessons with clear learning objectives, opportunities for assessment, Oracy, knowledge based starters and lessons on context. Over 150 slides, 21 planned lessons and explicit links made to GCSE style questions. Suitable for Year 9 but easily adapted for higher ability Year and 8 classes. The lessons have been used as video lessons successfully for remote learning with very few adjustments needed beyond adding in slides to guide students. The slides also contain all the texts that are needed and can be used to create an anthology of extracts. Links to relevant video clips included and as well as self/peer assessment proformas.
