The Red Badge of Courage Movie Guide | Worksheet | Questions (NR - 1951) challenges students to identify and describe the psychological trials that the soldiers go through leading up to, during and after their battles. Explore and interpret Stephen Crane’s style of writing throughout the film. Ask students to take note of language and slang they are unfamiliar with that was common in the 1950s and use context to guess its meaning.

Note: This 1hr and 9min movie is based on Stephen Crane’s novel “The Red Badge of Courage” and is directed by John Huston.

This resource consists of 12 high-level, short answer and essay questions that will do more than just ask your students to regurgitate information.
