The Wild Robot Movie Guide (PG - 2024) challenges students to explore themes of friendship, family, and acceptance. Discuss how Roz learns to communicate with the animals and becomes part of their community. Identify how and why her relationships change from when she first arrives on the island to when she states she is “a wild robot”. Reflect on the importance of understanding others and overcoming differences. Encourage students to think about the choices Roz makes, especially her decision to leave the island to protect her friends. Explore what students think about their current relationship with computers/robots and whether or not in the future they think they might have a relationship with a robot like Roz and Brightbill had.
