This spreadsheet is a times tables tool for school kids of all ages (even adults can join the fun and learn new times tables). The main reason I built it was to help my kids learn and memorise new times tables. All the resources we found online helped them practice what they already knew but it is always challenging to learn new times tables. So the main difference between this game and any other resources we found online is that this will help kids in the learning stage as well as in the practicing stage.

After seeing the difference it made with my kids (who actually helped me design and build it) I decided to spend some time to make it more user friendly. It is my hope that it is intuitive enough to use without instructions.

When you use it for the first time, please:

  • enable macros
  • read the “Info” sheet
  • go to the “Setup” sheet (using the menu on the top of the “Game” sheet) to add players and list their times tables and levels, etc.
  • change the levels definition table to suit your kids’ needs (the default definitions worked very well for my kids)
  • try to press and play with all the options to familiarise yourself with what the game offers and make the best use of it
  • after a few rounds visit the “Activity” log (using the menu on the top of the “Game” sheet) to check how you can monitor your kids activities.
  • have fun

A pleasantly surprising resource. Quizzing and instant feedback program which allows students to compete.
