Topic 5: Energy Flow, Ecosystems and the Environment (Edexcel International A-level Biology)

As the first topic to be taught at the start at the second year of the Edexcel International A-level Biology course, topic 5 is very important and the content includes the key reaction of photosynthesis. • The concept of niche
• The effect of temperature on the rate of enzyme activity and the calculation of the Q10
• Isolation reduces gene flow and leads to allopatric and sympatric speciation
