Lesson allows pupils to have detailed discussions focussing on the positives and negatives of Tudor crime and punishment as well as generating questions, researching facts, discussing emotions of the people and also creating alternate punishments to Tudor punishments.
Lesson can also be linked to De Bono's Thinking Hat lesson whereby, using the Excel planning sheet, pupils are placed in 'home' groups before grouping and discussing ideas with those who have also been given the same role to focus on - 'away' group.
Later on in the lesson, pupils will come back to their 'home' groups and using the final note taking resource, pupils share and record other pupils' ideas. This allows them to gain knowledge on all areas and not just the one that they were responsible for.
