A fully planned 6 week unit on Tudor England suitable for KS2 (most suitable for Year 5 and 6). This unit meets the requirements for the National Curriculum and can be used in a cross curricular fashion with links to English, ICT, Maths, Geography and Science, and potential links to DT and Art.
This unit comes with a Medium Term Plan (MTP), PowerPoint slides and many resources. All resources mentioned in the MTP are provided, as are extra resources should you wish to add to the planning.
Lessons are desgined to be 2 hours in length and can be spread across multiple ‘lessons’.
Lesson sequence:
- Lesson 1: Exploring new topic through artefact analysis
- Lesson 2: Creating a timeline of Tudor Kings and Queens
- Lesson 3: Exploring the Reformation of England and Henry VIII’s subsequent marriages
- Lesson 4: Henry VIII (analysis of sources)
- Lesson 6: Creating the Tudor Family tree
- Lesson 6: Life as a Tudor (comparative study of life as a rich Tudor and poor Tudor)
Everything needed to teach this unit is included and all resources have been made by me.
There is lots of scope for more lessons (such as Elizabeth I) which I may add if I can teach more lessons on the Tudors.
