Understanding Numbers 1 - 10

Here’s a worksheet for EYFS to help children practice forming numbers in numeral and written form.

This sheet asks children to read a numeral form, trace and write the written form and finally represent the number either in a drawing or on a ten frame. The sheet uses a box font to encourage children to think about tall, small and hanging letters.

There are two different forms of differentiation:

• The Draw It! worksheet for LA students who can draw their representation
• The Ten Frame It! worksheet for MA and HA students who can represent numbers on a ten frame

This worksheet can be used with manipulatives to increase support given. Dice It!, Domino It! and Numicon It! to be added at a later date.
