A unit of work (3 lessons) on the use of colour in setting descriptions. Each lesson progresses from the previous and includes a relevant starter and a task.
Lesson 1 - Starter. Introducing colour synonyms and describing a picture. Success criteria. Worksheet included.
Lesson 2 - Starter. Looking at use of senses and a range of sentence openers to describe a scene. Success criteria. Worksheet included.
Lesson 3 - Starter. Improving sentences - dissecting sentences to reinforce good writing and ‘making every word count’. The power point goes through this very clearly using some example work and improving it. Worksheet included.

Bonus - A comprehension and a vocabulary extension task.

Aimed for Year 5 but certainly easily adapted for Years 4-8, depending on ability.
