Students complete calculations using v=fl and T=1/f (with unit conversion) to identify musical notes (calculating for frequency or wavelength), which they can add to a musical stave with the aim of guessing the song.
The tunes are all from Christmas carols but there is a crib sheet with 10 questions for each note from middle C to D5 so you can easily make worksheets for different songs.
Either get students to guess one of 5 different carols from one line or do a whole class activity with 8 groups each translating one line of Jingle Bells, which you can all play together at the end.

Heads up: on doing this activity with students it turns out that different instruments have different note (you have to transpose) so it will sound a little funky if you get multiple instruments playing at once. I used online pianos such as: https://www.musicca.com/piano (other online pianos are available)
