What Caused the Tsunami? Indian Ocean Tsunami 2004

Learning Objectives:

1. To define what a tsunami is
2. To describe and illustrate what caused the Indian Ocean tsunami in 2004

In this lesson, we have an audio clip which students will listen to and describe what they think they can hear and how it makes them feel, we discuss and explain what a tsunami is and what caused the 2004 tsunami, we look at maps to locate the Pacific Ring of Fire and locate our case study and we have a learning pyramid as our plenary activity which offers a few moments of reflection on their learning.
