One of the first steps in becoming an environmental leader is knowing where your garbage goes. Lots of things that we think we need to throw away can be made into new things, with recycling!
This activity will help your students learn how to get rid of your garbage the right way.
• Table activity with several common items. For each picture they see, students can work with their parents to find out where that item currently goes in your home either trash, recycle or compost pile.
• Next, students will go online (your local Solid Waste/Recycling location) to find out now where each item should go.
• Lastly a set of discussion questions.
