A set of varied fluency worksheets to use alongside the White Rose Maths scheme. For all the small steps, the questions have been differentiated 3 ways, each with an individual sheet of questions for that level. Answers are also included.

These sets of worksheets are for Year 4, Autumn Block 3 (Length and Perimeter), focusing on all four small steps of measuring and converting km, calculating perimeter of rectangles and calculating perimeter of rectilinear shapes. Details of how they have been differentiated can be found below:

Kilometres:
• 1 Star sheet (Working Towards Expected Level): Be able to convert between km and m in multiples of 1000m. Be able to add up to 1km.
• 2 Star sheet (Expected Level): Be able to convert between km and m in multiples of 1000m/500m. Be able to add up to 10km
• 3 Star sheet (Working at greater depth): Be able to convert between km and m in multiples, including numbers with 2 decimal places. Be able to add up to 20km, including numbers with 2 decimal places.

Calculating perimeter on a grid:
• 1 Star sheet (Working Towards Expected Level): Be able to calculate the perimeter of squares and rectangles on a grid.
• 2 Star sheet (Expected Level): Be able to calculate the perimeter of rectilinear shapes on a grid.
• 3 Star sheet (Working at greater depth): Be able to calculate the perimeter of more complex shapes on a grid.

Calculating perimeter of a rectangle:
• 1 Star sheet (Working Towards Expected Level): Be able to calculate the perimeter of a square by using the measurement of one side and also by using the total perimeter to work out the length of one side. Numbers are 1 or 2 digits in cm.
• 2 Star sheet (Expected Level): Be able to calculate the perimeter of squares and rectangles by using the measurement of one side and also by using the total perimeter to work out the length of one side. Numbers are 2 or 3 digits in cm.
• 3 Star sheet (Working at greater depth): Be able to calculate the perimeter of squares and rectangles by using the measurements of one side and also by using the total perimeter to work out the length of one side. Numbers are 1 or 2 digits, including decimals, in m.

Calculating perimeter of a rectilinear shape:
• 1 Star sheet (Working Towards Expected Level): Be able to calculate the perimeter of a rectilinear shape made up of 2 rectangles. Measurements are 1/2 digits in cm.
• 2 Star sheet (Expected Level): Be able to calculate the perimeter of a rectilinear shape made up of 3 rectangles. Measurements are 2/3 digits in cm.
• 3 Star sheet (Working at greater depth): Be able to calculate the perimeter of a rectilinear shape made up of 3 rectangles. Measurements are 2/3 digits, including numbers with one decimal place, in m.

Each worksheet contains a total of 8 questions. This provides children with the varied fluency that White Rose aim for. These questions can be used as a quick starter and cut up so that only the first 4 questions are used, or given as more of a main activity with all 8 questions. They could also be used for partner work, depending on the ability of the children.
